A fervent plea to America's dancers...

Swing Dancer Murdered
My wonderful Swing dance partner, Lynn Gibson, was brutally murdered on Thanksgiving Weekend.  Her estranged husband trailed her to her relative's house, pulled out a gun and shot her several times in the head.  One bullet grazed their 9 year-old son, Christopher, who witnessed the shooting from the back seat of the car.  He recovered in the hospital.  The father later turned the gun on himself. 

Christopher is now orphaned.  Even worse, for the rest of his life he will live with the horrible memory of his father having shot his mother just days after his Birthday and Thanksgiving.  Just think about that, folks.  Imagine the nightmare that this boy went through, is still going through - and will never forget.

Lynn Gibson will never dance again and Christopher Gibson will never spend another Thanksgiving or Birthday with his mom again.  And I will forever mourn the death of my wonderful dance partner.  So I make this fervent plea to all of you who care about children.

Please Help
The USA Swing Net, its member Event Directors and leading Dance Pros across the country have joined together to fund a Trust Account on behalf of Christopher Gibson.  It is being administered by National City Bank in Michigan.

Benji Schwimmer, winner of FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" series, is taking the lead to make a contribution on behalf of his own foundation, "D.E.M.A.N.D." (Dancers Everywhere Making A Needed Difference).  He is joined by fellow dancer, Elizabeth Jarosz, from NBC's "The Apprentice" series.  Other dancers and dance entities from all across the country are coming to Christopher's aid. Their names appear on the Honor Roll at the right.

We hope that you, too, will join us in helping little Christopher.  Donations made to his Trust Fund will not bring his parents back but they will give him a better chance to make it through life, despite experiencing such a terrible tragedy at a such tender age. 

Folks, just look at the sweet smile on the beaming face of this wonderful 9 year-old boy.  How can you not be moved?

Please contribute ANY amount you can.  I ask you to do it in MEMORY of a fallen dancer and also as an INVESTMENT in the life of her young child.  It will be the GREATEST and MOST MEANINGFUL gift you will EVER give another person.
